Limo-like Honda: 2008 Accord

Some have observed the 2008 Honda Accord with a limo-like look. - Raved a poster on Car and Driver's website: "Well, all those who always wanted an Accord limo, your dreams have come true." - This was what I have read from latimes.com. Through that, I got interested of knowing more about the model.

The Honda Accord has never been before considered an aggressive looking vehicle that people would love it with its exterior alone. But, for 2008, the Japanese automaker is opting to create a redesigned Accord. It would be bigger and more powerful.

According to Chris Martin (a spokesman for Torrance-based American Honda Motor Co.), “Americans don’t want a car that feels big on the outside, but they definitely want a car that feels like it’s spacious and luxurious on the inside.” I definitely agree with that as I am up to the convenience rather than its cover. And, I think most of you as well. So, he said, “We wanted to make the Accord feel bold, roomy and refined.”

The Accord has been resized three inches longer than the 2007 model and is five inches longer than its rival Toyota Camry. There is also a 3% interior room edges added.

California is where the 2007 Accord ranked second following the Camry in the mid-size car segment. Having the state as their biggest market gives them the eagerness to turn the model better than its rival.

Sales Manager Arman Marsoubian said, “We’ve been getting so many calls from customers for the car… and they haven’t even seen a picture of it yet.”

It has been observed that Honda is looking to capture the interest of youngsters, justified with what analyst Wes Brown of Iceology said, “They’re struggling to attract the younger generation, who want vehicles with a little bit more soul or character or flair.”

Unfortunately, people have seen the dedication of other companies with their Mazda3 and Subaru Impreza than with Honda. Even the Mitsubishi Lancer or those equipped with the Mitsubishi 3000GT radiator were pretty more impressive than what Honda has been doing in the past.

Brown further said, “Honda seems to have focused on this segment of the baby boom generation that values quality, reliability and resale value more than anything else. That’s fine and dandy, but that’s pretty much what Toyota does - and you’re never going to tout-Toyota Toyota.”

In the coming of 2008 Honda Accord, a wonderful impression has been built. For the latimes.com, you can find some of the few thoughts from those who have seen the model last Tuesday, August 28.

Cheap Limo Price? Think Again!

Before calling up various limo services for special occasions, we should try considering our options first. Do we want an expensive limo service or a cheap one? It's rest assured that an expensive limo service will provide the luxury that is worth the price you pay. On the other hand, cheap limo services are okay but we are not certainly positive if it can give us the luxurious work that allows us to get compliments and prestige!

So, if you’re thinking to get a cheap limo service, check out these limo rental tips from www.limos.com and think again before calling those that offer limo services up!

"CHEAP limo price" shopping risks: RISKS YOU ACCEPT WHEN SHOPPING FOR CHEAP LIMOS:

  • Your limousine does not arrive on time. You miss your event.
  • The limousine is late. You miss your flight and an important corporate meeting.
  • A 1989 limousine rusting at the seams arrives at your door when you were expecting at a 2007 model. Instead of being lavished in luxury, you are embarrassed.
  • Your limousine chauffeur exercises poor customer service with your company's most influential client. You loose the account.
  • Your limousine breaks down on the freeway during transport to the Super Bowl. You and 7 of your friends missed the big game - your tickets cost $400 a piece, yet you saved $35.00 on limo service.
  • Your limousine service gets into an accident and does not have proper insurance to cover the damages involved in your injuries.
  • Your limousine arrives late for your wedding. The groom is transported to the church 1 hour after the ceremony was scheduled to consumate. Wedding guests are bewildered and disgruntled. Yet, you saved $50.

Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency for Limousine Regulation

When I turned ten, I have dreamed of riding and relaxing inside a very fabulous limousine just like those famous celebrities on television. Such an experience just seems to give so much pleasure to  whoever is inside. It’s like you’re in a VIP room with the only difference that the limo comes with various parts like the Subaru clutch disc and others as it is a vehicle.

Recently, I have read from autocar.co.uk that “after a spate of crashes, gaffes and other trouble, the police are stepping up Operation Dakota, a fancy name for what is essentially a plan to clean up the act of the myriad unlicensed drivers of stretched limousines in the UK.” That is for knowing all about the increasing number of accidents of limousines in the community.

Actually, the operations already started in practice late last year in Manchester. However, they are opting to expand the implementation across the national police network.

They are not going to create a very hard-to-follow policy. All that is need is just a driving license to have a stretched limousine business. New laws are getting ready with their plans. It shall mandate limo drivers to take special tests, to register with the local council and to have their limousines be subject to rigorous tests each year. It would be just like the regulations holding taxi drivers.

As we have known, majority of the stretched limousines in the UK are imported from America. Oftentimes, those ones don’t conform to European safety regulations. Because of this matter, authorities find ways to ensure the safety of each. The proposed licenses shall include criminal record check, local knowledge test, driver medical and even bi-annual MOTs. This part is crucial, as it consumes time and money for those who have a limo business. They might probably think getting out of their business because of the new laws.

I strong think that the law they are to make is necessary. It would be for the benefit of the majority of the population.

White Limousine

I haven’t come up with the best Limo update for you guys because for the past two weeks, I’ve been working on my VW oil pan gasket. Whew, what a busy life I have! Anyway, I’m not going to leave you empty handed. I can’t afford to upset you… So I came up with something new to somehow change the perspective of my limo blogs and at the same time provide you with some touch of entertainment. I decided to share one of my favorite songs with you. The track was done by my all time favorite artist, Duncan Sheik!

The song is entitled “White Limousine”… and it’s not a bad post after all, right? I’ve been listening to this song since I bought the album entitled White Limousine. The song is pretty relaxing and I assure you that you will definitely wave your shoulders left and right when you get to hear the tune of the song. For my next post, expect it to be much better than this one. For now, just search or download this song so you could add it to your collection and take pleasure in listening to Duncan Sheik’s White Limousine song!

Now here’s the Limo stuff that you’ve all been waiting for… the White Limousine by Duncan Sheik!

Artist: Duncan Sheik
Song: White limousine
Album: White Limousine

I guess they think it's what we want
A smooth and easy ride
Constellations of ceiling lights
Hennessy and Nawgahide

America, America this is our reward
Everything is boring, and everyone is bored

May be a white
May be a white limousine
May be a white, white, white, white
Limousine

Who's the smart guy at the wheel
Running out of gas
He likes to wear a flight suit
And fly around for laughs

May be a white
May be a white limousine
May be a white, white, white, white
Limousine

A few incentives for the pharmacy
Hey I'm feeling better already
I don't wanna be clear, it's too much for me
I'm making up, oh I'm making up
For lost time, for all the lost time

May be a white
May be a white limousine
May be a white, white, white, white
Limousine

May be a white
May be a white limousine
May be a white, white, white, white
Limousine

Outside of limousine
Grown men they do cry
A bill for seven hours
Worth how many lies

May be a white
May be a white limousine
May be a white, white, white, white
Limousine

We have won the war
We have won the war

Mercedez Limo: Bigger and Better

Mercedes-Benz introduced the first Pullman limousine. And it became one among the most sought after limousines in the market. And not only that, the Pullman limousine had become the rail-road car for Germany.

But Mercedes decided to retune the limousine because of the market's demands. The new limousine is now wearing the S600 sedan iteration in late 2008. However, it doesn’t have the clutch disc Canada.

The S600 long wheelbase Guard model is the new platform of the newest Mercedes Pullman limousine. It means the B6/B7 resistance level is certified to be on the limousine as said by the various state organizations. This only means that the passengers of the new Mercedes limo are protected from any terrorist attacks. The upper crust occupants are protected from any harm.

The cover is made up of steel metal which will serve as the armor adding up to stronger and fully reinforced body structure, running on flat tires as well as a self-healing fuel tank on board fire-extinguishing system as released by the AutoBlog last February 2007. The European car maker all adds few more weights on the said limo to power up the provided 5.5L twin-turbo twelve-cylinder engine capable of producing 517 horsepower and 612 pound feet of torque.

The drivers of the new motor should now learn how to work the four dignitaries out to be able to make the new limo function well. The carmaker did not reveal the price of the new limousine but I guess the new gorgeous limo will not make it hard for the government to afford it.

Bush’s Limo Went to Rome Last June

I was actually looking for a Chevy oxygen sensor for my old Chevy car but I realized I need to feed my daily blog with an entry. I miss blogging but I was busy at work and there are certain responsibilities in life I need to attend to. Well, I don’t need to mention all those since I know you are more interested on the news I am giving you than that me talking about what happened at work.

Normally, we encounter certain problems on the road like malfunctioning brakes and flat tires. But it’s okay if we accidentally get caught in that situation near your area in the US. Well, that is because you can easily visit a mechanic to get you out of trouble and ease you out of that discomfort.

But what if your car goes to Rome? You have to be like President George Bush who brings along an extra stretch armored limo, well, of course, for emergency purposes just like happened to him last June in Rome.

The US president was seen one time in June in Rome with his entourage when they approached the US Embassy in Rome this weekend. The limo which the President was riding suddenly malfunctioned so he had to get to the other Cadillac DTS limo to continue and complete his transactions for the day. The driver was attempting to restart the first limo but Bush suddenly went out of the limo and transferred to the other reserved custom Cadillac DTS limo. I wish I were the President.

If you are as expensive as Bush, you may also have the same treatment but sadly you are not. We are not. So for you to avoid these situations, make sure to bring along the instant mechanic with you. Learn more about cars so you will know what to do just in case your car malfunctions in the middle of the desert.

HansonEllis.com Recommends Limo For Weddings!

HansonEllis.com, one of the best sources for weddings tips, advice and nothing else but all the wedding stuff you need to know about, is here. You name it, they have it! I inquired on this site three months ago when my cousin got married and I was the one assigned to get the best bridal car for their wedding. With pleasure, of course, I seeked for advice from several sites and a friend of my dad recommended HansonEllis.com if I needed the best suggestions for wedding vehicles!

So I visited the site before I went to the shop and get an emblem Canada for my car. Fortunately, the site provided me with the assistance I needed and guess what they told me? Get a limousine for wedding occasions! That was it, and quickly I inquired at Limos.com where I found the best deals and limo services for all occasions… And there goes the wedding that marked a significant moment on the newly weds life! Thanks to limousines, the couple has become the happiest newlyweds in our town!

Here is the wonderful piece of advice from www.hansonellis.com!

***

Your Chariot Awaits

1. Think of the impressions the word “limousine” conjures up. Hollywood stars, tycoons, VIPs, and you and your groom on your wedding day! A limousine is an elegant element that enhances the festivity of the day.

2. Imagine arriving and departing your day’s events in grand style. An awesome stretch limousine pulls up; the chauffeur comes around, opens your door, offers his hand, and helps you gracefully exiting the carriage.

3. A limousine can transport you, your family or your wedding party from the start of the day to the end. It can pick you up at home, and then drive you to the church (on time, of course!), the reception and the airport for your honeymoon. It leaves personal cars free to handle last minute errands and ensures that you and your gown arrive unruffled.

4. Limousines might drive the wedding party to and from the reception. They can also be quite helpful in transporting out-of-town or elderly guests to the ceremony and reception. They’ll have a very pleasant ride, too. Today’s state-of-the-art limousines come complete with all the comforts of home: a TV a fully stocked bar, a CD player and other goodies.

5. Check rates and find out exactly what the rate covers, time allowed, type of limousine and the amenities provided. Also determine if a fleet rate is available if you plan to use more than one limo. Discuss your needs with a service consultant at the limousine company, and plan to make your reservations at least four to six months ahead of time to ensure availability.

The Century Limousine

Here’s another limousine that I’m sure you’re not familiar with. It’s the Toyota Century limousine oozing with the best standard features and perfect parts like EBC brake rotors etc. Let’s get to know some cool facts about this ride shall we? Check this out…

The Toyota Century is a large four-door limousine manufactured by Toyota mostly for the Japanese market. Production of the Century commenced in 1967 and the model obtained minor changes only until a redesign surfaced in 1997. This second-generation Century is still sold in Japan, with some sold to other Asian countries particularly in Hong Kong where it was driven as the official transportation for the Chief Executive until July 2007 when it was replaced by a Lexus LS 600h L. The Century derived its name from the 100 year anniversary of Japan becoming an open country. It is when Japan began to do business and worked together with the world in 1867, after the Meiji Restoration.

The production of the Century was in limited numbers only and it was built in an "almost hand-made" style. It is frequently used by the royal family, government leaders, and executive businessmen. The Century is similar in purpose to the Austin A135, ZIS/ZIL, Chinese Red Flag, Rolls-Royce and Maybach limousines. The Toyota Century is outfitted with fender mirrors - an evident characteristic of Japanese cars.

A special version is produced for the Japanese Imperial Household, to be used by senior members of the royal family, with the same purpose of the Bentley State Limousine presented to the British Royal Family.

The exterior styling of the Century had some changes, but it still remained unchanged since it was first introduced primarily due to its apparent social status as the "preferred vehicle denoting conservative success”. Its appearance is iconic in Asian countries, usually painted black. The closest Asian competitor is the Nissan President, with a comparable reputation.

Are We Ready For Some Green Limousines?

Several limousine company owners and other car makers had a chance to join the get together at the Mohegan Sun casino this week for the convention of the LCT Eastern Conference/New England Livery Association. And one among those who screamed out loud at the floor was the new Mariner hybrid sport-utility which has been customized to become a limousine service. It was the very first time that the car had been disconnected from its parent company, Ford.

The Ford car model may not have the Audi distributor cap but the slight changes made to the car like its paint job which was made glossier bringing out the best kind of black made the difference. It also came covered with a 100,000-mile warranty. Not only that - the leather seats were also altered and a front-seat electric outlet for a laptop computer was added in making the car a little expensive amounting to $30,200 for the front-wheel-drive version. The car will be available for fleet operations this coming November or December.

The Calgary’s president of Associated Cab Limited that handles 425 taxis fleets and 75 livery cars on the Western Canada energy-industry hub made a comment saying, "Our biggest challenge right now is the price of fuel, and if you compare the costs, apples to apples, this is a cheaper vehicle to run."

The company uses 8 Ford hybrid cars and plans to add more Mercury Mariner hybrids.

He continues saying, "The next five years, there is going to be a huge change in the industry. There has to be."

The limousine and livery manager for Ford's North American fleet operations Doug Walczak also informs that the fleet followers were demanding for more limousines for the past month and one of the Brooklyn limousine operators received a warning from a client that if they didn’t add greener vehicles in their fleets, they are going to drop them.

Walczak even informs that, "A lot of operators said, 'What are we going to do to listen to the green market? What are we doing to respond to the environmental movement?'”

Of course, the limousine service followers are ready for hybrid limousines as they are looking for more environment-friendly vehicles, since they are demanding for green cars these days.

Boston Dealer Builds Tribeca Limo

Take a look at that limousine. Isn’t that gorgeous? I mean not all cars are privileged to have Ernie Boch Jr. as their designer, but this new Subaru Tribeca limousine had a chance to experience the expertise of Boch.

Ask me who Ernie Boch Jr., come on. We all know who Ernire is and for the benefit of those who still wondering, he is a Boston area dealer who has a weakness in long limousines. And he is also responsible for the stretched design of the Subaru Forester.

The story was taken from Autoblog months ago and he told the North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club about his plans for the limousines. Ernie told the forum that he is in Japan meeting with Fuji Heavy Industries executives. He showed the stretched Forester and also expressed his desire towards bringing an elongated Tribeca to reality. The idea was embraced and the engineers also collaborated with Ernie on stretching the Tribeca limo giving new chassis which will all happen at the Subaru's plant in Indiana. Then the Tribeca was done but they had to consult a different coachbuilder to do the interior.

The net had been very informative saying that these Forester limos were sold to other dealers but the Tribeca limo was seen several times roaming around the streets of England. People have long waited for it but the 2008 version of the Subaru limo has yet to come out in the open. It's impressive how these retuned 3.6L boxer limos had been making money after several twisting and turnings of its metal sheets. Of course, if you own one limousine and you pass by several people, you would slow down so everybody sees you riding in it.

I have seen the news on Autoblog.com months ago but it seems I hadn’t updated the site about the news so I brought it here to let you know.

Ride A Limo, Help A Charity

Here's something heartwarming from the limo industry. It's not all about glamorous people being transported from the airport to their five-star hotels but just a story about limousines and charity with a touch of world record breaking activities. This is only for the residents of Blackpool, Lancashire, England and nearby towns though.

The European Limousine News is backing a charity activity which will attempt to set a world record for the longest limousine convoy. At the same time, the activity will also raise funds for selected charities. Residents of the town and nearby areas are urged to contact their local limousine rental and ask them if they will be going to participate in the Guinness World Record breaking event. If they are not, individuals are urged to encourage limo rentals to participate in the event.

The record attempt will be held at the Blackpool strip on Monday, the eighth of October. It is expected that the number of stretch limos that will participate in the event will bring the total length of the convoy to about a mile. It will only be possible if limo rentals will be willing to spare their drivers and their vehicles for one day to raise funds. The funds that will be raised from the fare of their customers who will be signing up to ride in a limo for the record breaking attempt. The fund will then be given to the charity of choice of the operator of the limousine.

Participating limousines and their passengers will be welcomed to Blackpool personally by Mayor Robert Wynne as they cross the line on the Blackpool Strip. According to the organizers, a large section of the Golden Mile will be closed off to accommodate the lengthy vehicles that will grace the strip come the eighth of October.

It can be expected that a wide array of limousines will take part in this event. Stretch Hummer limos, BMW limos, Mercedes-Benz limos, Porsche limos, Audi limos, and all the rest of them will be led by the world's first Ferrari limousine.

According to the event's website, this is how they will raise the money for different charities: "Appeal to the general public to take part as a passenger in this event for a minimum donation of say £ 25. What you set the fee at is your choice, some limo' s have been hired for as little as £ 10 per seat, others have up to £ 100 a seat. Whatever you can raise will be greatly received on the day."
